Question
An air ionizer can or cannot remove static electricity for all objects?
Answer
An air ionizer can remove static electricity from all objects. All material are conductors or non-conductors. Non-conductors [insulators] cannot be grounded. Ionization can neutralize charges on either conductors or insulators. Naturally occurring ions in the air will eventually dissipate charges, but it could take several minutes or hours to do this. Ionization quickly dissipates static charges on insulators and isolated conductors. When a balance of negative AND positively charged ions are formed and directed by air flow toward a charged surface, the result is effective neutralization of the charge on that surface. When the charges are neutralized, the potentially damaging field effect on ESD susceptible devices is eliminated.
