Question
We distribute semiconductors and I am wanting to know if we have ESD flooring and use the heel straps, are the smocks necessary? - Anonymous, Cypress, TX
Answer
Smocks are dependent on the control level of your program and the ESD Susceptibility or Sensitivity classification of your devices and therefore optional. In some cases they may be a very good idea to implement as they demonstrate a large commitment to the Control Program as well as help protect very sensitive devices (class 0 HBM/CDM).
