Question I have a question relating to the maintenance, testing and useful life span of an ESD work smock. How many washings? What type of soap/method? How do you test them to determine if they have surpassed their functional usefulness? - Anonymous, Calgary, Canada
Answer Our smocks will maintain their usefulness and ESD protective properties for a minimum of 75 washings. For proper operation, the ESD protective smock must be laundered periodically. Launder garment in cool or warm water, tumble dry with low heat or hang dry. DO NOT BLEACH. The carbon-suffused mono-filament nylon is sensitive to heat and should not be exposed to laundering heat in excess of 120 degrees Fahrenheit. We also have a tech brief that says basically the same thing as well as giving you more technical information on construction, testing, installation and maintenance.
