Question
We are in the process of beefing up our ESD program, and I'm searching for ESD shoes instead of using heel strap. I see "conductive" and "static dissipative" listed. We have ESD protected (wax) floors. Which is the correct type of shoe for this situation that will pass on our tester?
Answer
Either conductive or dissipative ESD shoes will meet the minimum recommended technical requirement for ESD Shoes per Table 1 of ANSI/ESD S20.20 if the resistance is less than 1 x 10^9 ohms.1 x 10^9 ohms, is 1,000,000,000 or 1 Gigohm. Make sure that the Personal Grounding Tester has a 1 Gigohm setting. For more information please contact Service@DescoIndustries.com.
