Question I have a problem and I think it could be a degradation of component by an ESD. The component concerned is a MOS capacitor* in an RF component in As Ga ASIC. But I have no information about the sensitivity of this kind of component and I dont Know where I can find any information about the ESD sensitivity in HBM, CDM or MM of this sort of capacitor. Do you know where I can find any information on these kind of components? - Michel, France
Answer There is a published document which classifies certain electronic devices and may have your MOS capacitor listed. The publication is: VZAP-95C (ESD Susceptibility Data) Electrostatic discharge (ESD) is a major cause of electronic device and system failures. This publication contains ESD susceptibility data for 22,000 devices, including microcircuits, discrete semiconductors and resistors. A detailed section contains the commercial part number, device description, manufacturer, ESD classification (per MIL-STD-1686A and MIL-STD-883 Method 3015.7), date code, data source information, resistance and capacitance used in the discharge circuit, failure voltage, pin combination, failure criteria, and the version of Method 3015 used. Interpretation of the data and profiles of susceptibility levels for various device types and technologies are included. This data is particularly useful in fulfilling part classification requirements and in the establishment of ESD control programs? Hard/Software Req.: IBM PC: Windows 95 or NT? Supplier: Reliability Analysis Center (RAC), 201 Mill Street, Rome, NY 13440; Phone: (315)337-0900; FAX: (315)337-9932; EMail: RAC_comments@iitri.org; Demo Avail. & Price: None; Prices: $ 125 US, $145 Non-US [ http://rac.iitri.org/DATA/RMST/esd_succept.html ]
