Question
Currently we use an antistatic styrofoam for manufacturing through hole power supplies. What would you recommend to replace the stryofoam? We need to comply with all military standards, and I have not been able to find any specifics on standard materials. Please advise. - Anonymous
Answer
Your application is not completely clear to me. One assumption is that you were using the Styrofoam to place the boards on during the manufacturing process. Recommendation for this situation is to replace the Styrofoam with our T2 table mat worksurface, which complies to ANSI/ESD S20.20 and ESD S 4.1 and ESD STM4.2 standards. The ANSI/ESD S20.20 standard document directly replaces the Military Standard MIL-STD-1686 and has been accepted by all government/military agencies.
