Question
How can I protect a motor connector from receiving an ESD? - Anonymous, Louisville, KY
Answer
Interconnects are rather tricky to protect. Depending on the size of the connector, you can slide an ESD bag, roll a finger cot or tape the opening with a conductive grid tape.
You can also Ionize the area where the interconnections are coupled together to help minimize the electric fields generated from the insulative interconnects. You should also make sure the unit is grounded as well as the personnel handling the parts/unit.
