Question
The company I just started at utilizes EDS foot straps, wrist straps, and mats on work benches. If they are doing soldering and other assembling which may cause a mess or cause burns, is there some other material that can be put over the mats without jeopardizing ESD, so that they do not have to move the mats, as space is limited? - Clif, Irvine, CA
Answer
Yes. Your best bet is a solder pad that is a rigid highly durable heat resistant soldering ESD mat. This can go over your standard rubber or vinyl ESD table mat or you can order a larger piece that is an actual table mat with ground cord. Rubber mats also have good heat resistance properties . I would recommend our table mats to be used with soldering stations.
